Viking Chape Fitting for Sword Scabbard from Haithabu

Sword chape for scabbard sword, based on the archaeological find from Haithabu, Denmark, and dated from the 10th century. This piece was used to protect and decorate the end of a sword scabbard. Many of these pieces has been found and they present a huge variety of decorative motifs. Hand-made with bronze. Two sizes are available, a thick one made for wooden core sword scabbards and a thinner one good for thin leather sword scabbards or seax sheath. Thick chape measurements: External dimensions: 7 x 6.5 cm. Internal dimensions: 6.3 x 1.4 cm. Thin chape measurements: External dimensions: 6.5 x 6.4 cm.
