Understanding our Fire Ring Dimensions When Ordering Square smokeless backyard fire pits come in either 12 or 18 inches deep/tall and have 4 panels. Looking for a lid? We make that as well. Check out our square lid. Each hole is 1 inch in size and 1 inch apart—all holes are around the top, with no holes at the bottom. This allows for secondary combustion and gets you to that smokeless burn. The top lip is 3 inches. Suppose you were to order a 30 x 12-inch. You will receive a 30-inch inside square smokeless fire pit with a fully welded 3-inch lip encircling it, resulting in a total diameter of 36 inches measured from the outside of the lip. The square smokeless backyard fire pit insert is crafted from heavy 16-gauge carbon steel. This feature will protect your fire pit bricks or blocks from direct heat and flames.
