The plaster mixture is painted directly onto the plate, allowing marks to be built up with brush and gesture before drying into a richly textured surface.Once sealed, the plate is inked and printed, translating the raised plaster textures into bold colour and striking surface variation. The process captures both the physicality of painting and the depth of intaglio printmaking. The surface holds movement — ridges, edges, and layered marks — creating an image that feels constructed yet expressive.Strong bands of colour anchor the composition, with vivid red grounding the lower section and contrasting tones shifting above. The structure suggests a horizon or abstract landscape, while retaining the raw material quality of plaster-built mark making.As a collagraph, each impression is inked individually. The plate responds differently depending on how the ink is applied and wiped, meaning every print in the edition carries subtle variations in tone and intensity.
